Couch to 5K Check-In #1

Posted on January 6, 2013. Filed under: 5K Training, Shrinking Jeans Challenges |

I joined the #C25K challenge, which started last week. Now, we’re to report our progress and any questions, so here goes.

I’m Tami and I live in NE Oklahoma. Honestly, I didn’t even start, yet.

I’m not sure why I even started a challenge, when I am adjusting to a six week old baby and returning to a full time job. Still yet, I don’t want to quit. I want to give it a try. So, I’m asking:

Should I try to fit this challenge into my busy schedule. If so, how do you suggest I play catchup for the week I missed?

I’m blogging my progress at

Oooo, for what it’s worth, my advice would be to allow yourself to adjust to the necessities right now and not pressure yourself to take on additional challenges. BUT, I would encourage you ~ if running is something you’re interested in doing for your own enjoyment and health ~ that you pursue it kinda like a hobby. Just don’t make it a hard-core, time-limited challenge. That way, you’re doing it for YOU, on YOUR timetable, and won’t struggle with feeling like a failure if you can’t keep up the pace. There won’t be as much pressure. And you’ll be more likely to end up enjoying it and CONTINUING with it even after the official challenge is over.

There, that’s my two cents! (if it’s worth that much!!)
